Stand Up Patio Heaters: There are many types of patio heaters, and you may be asking yourself why are some much cheaper than others. Many stand up propane patio heaters are rated at 40,000 BTU’s. Some run $1500 while others cost $120 with the same heat rating. What’s deceiving about this, is that this is the heat’s input, not the level of heat that is emitted from the heater. The same gas pressure goes into every heater at a certain location, but what you actually feel coming out of the heater depends on burner diameter. Some burners are 2” diameter and some burners are 10” diameter. This would compare to a barbecue that has a 2” burner trying to heat the entire burner, compared to a standard burner that spans the width of the barbecue. In effect, these small burners are not very adequate to heat up the heat emitter grid sufficiently, so you will feel less heat. The heat emitter grid in turn, heats up the dish on top of the heater to reflect the heat downward. Furthermore, because the cheaper heaters do not produce as much heat, the parts made for these heaters are thinner, lighter weight, and lower quality. If you are looking to heat up a small space and will be sitting right around the heater, we do carry these cheaper options. If there is any type of wind, and the space needing to be heated extends further than a very close distance, a higher quality heater will be needed. These heaters can be left on for long periods of time, whereas the cheaper heaters are not meant to stay on for more than a few hours. If left on for too long, the thinner metal can warp and cave in over time.
Natural Gas Patio Heaters: Natural gas patio heaters are a great option if you have gas pipes available. It’s cheaper, because propane jugs do not need to be replaced and it won’t eat into the electricity bill and you will never run out of natural gas. It looks much sleeker, because the tank and tank cover are not attached. You can do a permanent installation by cementing them into the ground, or purchased on a base to make them portable. There are hose extenders that coil around the heater or can be extended to move the heater on a base freely. It is also possible to have a low voltage switch on the wall that easily turns the heater on and off, which is easier than reaching up to turn the knob on the heater each time. There are many finishes available including black, stainless steel, and bronze, but the top dish is always stainless steel.
Gas Hanging Heater: Our most popular option is the natural gas hanging heater, although they are available in propane as well. Natural gas hanging heaters come in different BTU output which is either 25,000 BTU or 34,000 BTU. The most popular being 34,000 BTU. These normally hang on the wall or from the ceiling at a height of at least 7’ up to 11’ and are pointed at a downwards angle for maximum heat effectiveness. They cover an area approximately 10’ wide and 12’ out. They are normally turned on by a 24 volt transformer with low voltage wiring to a switch on the wall. They come in multiple finishes. The standard is stainless steel but these heaters are also available in black. Included is mounting hardware and the transformer. Electricity is needed in order to use the low voltage transformer switch which lights the heater.
Electric Hanging Heaters: Electric heaters are a popular choice for many reasons. The first being, they do not require as much of a clearance away from combustible surfaces as gas heaters do. The reason for this, is because there are no hot fumes that emit from the electric heater like gas heaters. The only clearance required is 18” on the sides of the heater, because as the heat projects outwards it spreads from the heater to cover a wider area. The most popular heater is 3000 watts that covers a heater of 10’ wide and 12’ out.
Streetlights: Streetlights we carry are unique, in that they make the area more inviting. On top of being a safety feature, choosing a more durable no-rust streetlight with beautiful features changes the mood of the street or parking lot. Streetlights can be matched in style to street signs, mailboxes, and stop signs. We’ve sold streetlights to city planners who opt for a cohesive finish to tie the entire city together, corporate offices and market eating, subdivisions to enhance the entire area, and residential front and backyards to elevate the curb appeal. There are many different styles of streetlights, the most popular two being antique and modern. These styles offer different heads, bases and finishes to truly customize the streetlight to the needs of the environment. Colors offered are bronze, antique green, black, antique bronze, white, brown, and custom finishes. Our streetlights are most often used as parking lot poles, commercial streetlights, residential neighborhoods, and xx. There are different options for lighting such as regular light bulbs, LED in different strength options, metal halide (most common), and high pressure sodium (amber so it does not bother eyes as much). Streetlights can be set up to automatically turn on at night and shut off in the morning, or the feature can be controlled manually in other ways. We offer cast aluminum streetlights so there is no rust.
Commercial and Residential Umbrellas: The difference between residential and commercial umbrellas really comes with the durability. Sometimes this means thicker poles, higher quality materials, or the mechanisms attached to the umbrella. They tend to last much longer and are made to withstand more wear. Like many other products, the price of umbrellas vary. This depends on warranty or guarantees on material, and type of frame. Umbrellas come in mahogany poles, aluminum poles, and other types of wood from locations around the world, which are shipped to the United States. The main brand today is Sunbrella. Even Sunbrella umbrellas come in multiple grades of quality, ranging from cheap to robust. Our patio umbrellas come in many different sizes, typically from 6’ to 26’. The 26’ are called giant umbrellas, and are designed to cover a wide area for hotels or commercial lots. There are many stock umbrellas in certain finishes, but we also offer custom colors that can be made in any finish to match other furniture and color schemes.
Metal Umbrellas: Our metal umbrellas have an aluminum top, instead of the material that is usually used which is canvas or other material. These umbrellas are designed to withstand harsh weather conditions and last 30+ years. We’ve sold metal umbrellas 50 years ago that are still holding strong. Originally called “Hurricane Umbrellas” they are designed to rotate in the wind so there’s almost no chance of a large gust of wind knocking it over. These umbrellas can be tilted so they block the sun from multiple angles, and are typically cemented into the ground or concrete patio. We offer many different colors and combinations of colors, with custom options available. It is also possible to place these umbrellas on heavy duty bases in order to make them portable and wheel them around easier. They are typically 7’ in diameter.
